Bickering Could Be The Death Of You

Asleep on the floor
I hear your breath
separate in the bed
waiting for a signal
bickering
was tiresome
Could you still love me?
I twisted the soft frayed cord
it's use depended on your answer
when you awakened.

I hope he gave the correct answer! A delightful 'what happened next?' piece.

At least there's a "when" at the end, and not an "if."

She must have been acquiescent originally. It would be best if she disappeared into the night, no one knows where.

Yes, I liked this and the 'atmosphere' the words created too.

All the best Jan

It is always nice to give way and perhaps even give in for long lasting love!

It feels like not just the cord is frayed...i hope that perhaps one day it can be remade..thicker..stronger..away from any troubles that are not our own..a powerful poem...what is not directly said speaks volumes
